An archival note

This blog began in 2010.

It started on "Orble", a terrible blogging platform, as a joke. Orble had this weird feature that if you blogged enough, you could 'claim' unused domain names. I started a blog in the hopes of bagging "datingbarracouda.com". In the meantime, wrote about what I knew – underground music in Hobart – and then it got too serious. When I was presented with the option to claim datingbarracouda.com, I decided: nah, let's keep this ship rolling onwards. The joke wasn't funny any more. So I moved the blog from Orble to Blogspot.

The blog was originally called Noise & Words & Things & Shit. It was found at noisewordsthingsshit.blogspot.com.

Then, it was called Noise, Etc. This was at noiseetc.com.

I left Hobart in June 2012; the blog died a natural death.

Chloe Escott once joked off-handedly that I'd "write the book" on the Hobart music scene circa 20XX. That seemed both implausible [the scene didn't need a book] and far, far too plausible [I'd do it regardless]. You gotta get yourself out of those situations.

The domain expired in 2016 – it outlived Orble, at least.

It now exists only as an archive. Have fun, future-obsessives. Sorry about the broken links.

As a side-note: All the posts were written between the ages of 18 and 20. Try not to mind all the adjectives.
